The Leica 50mm f2 Summicron (Collapsible) is the first version of Leica's legendary 50mm Summicron line. This lens was introduced in 1953 to replace the 1939 Summitar 5cm f2 lens. When not in use, the lens barrel collapses into the mount (and camera body) greatly reducing the profile of the camera. It is known as a decent performer. Perhaps not up to the standards that later Leitz lenses would introduce, this early Summicron (Collapsible) is still a capable and well-rounded lens.
This lens has the Leica M bayonet mount and is designed for use on cameras like the Leica M3 or M6.
This lens comes with its original lens cap and back cap.
